We all enjoyed a tremendous concert at Carlin Hall on Sunday July 10th, as Sarah Jane Scouten and The Honkey Tonk Wingmen stopped by on their Summer 2016 Tour.

Here’s a brief sample of what we all enjoyed:

We are very fortunate to have contemporary artists of this calibre performing in our area.  This is homegrown, Canadian music at its best and our audiences have the opportunity to share and support it.

A big thank you to all who took the time to come to Carlin Hall for the Sarah Jane Scouten concert, many hearing her music for the very first time.  It was obvious from the smiles, the comments and the CD sales, that she was a big hit.

Our next concert will be the T. Buckley Trio on August 14.  These guys are clearly putting their own stamp on the current country music scene.  Their music is entertaining and fresh yet clearly reflective of the roots from which the genre has grown.  They played Carlin Hall last year for the very first time and wowed the audience with their music and musicianship.

Stay tuned for more information.

Our next big event at Carlin Hall will be the SHUSWAP LAKE FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS taking place from Thursday July 21st to Sunday July 24th.  The Shuswap Lake Festival of the Arts, now in its 33rd year, is one of the longest running arts festivals in the region with a history of showcasing talented local artists of many disciplines.

Bring your own lawn chairs to Centennial Field and experience a night of music featuring Jesse Mast and his Band. This art festival sponsored event takes place Saturday, July 23 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm.

The festival promises to be another “thing to do” regardless of whether you are a permanent resident, part time resident or visitor to our area.  Mark it on your calendar and enjoy this multi-faceted event.  You will not be disappointed.

Check the Event’s Calendar for more information on all of the upcoming events.
