It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Garth Baumann on January, 12, 2018 following a brief illness.  Garth was the beloved husband of Kaye, and a devoted family man.  He was always a generous community supporter.  He was a talented musician, best known as the mandolinist with the popular band, The Dust Puppets.  Garth was a dear friend who will be missed.

Garth, and his wife, Kaye, have spent the past twenty years living in and supporting the Sunnybrae and Tappen communities.  Garth’s most recent involvement was with the Carlin Hall Community Association, where he served many roles, including president, vice-president, and director.  All in all, Garth was the ‘go to’ guy for things associated with the Hall.  He was pleased to help out in whatever manner possible; especially serving as a mentor to those new to the Hall.  Kaye continues to serve as a director and is always a familiar face at the coffeehouses and special events.

We would like to show our Carlin Community support for Kaye by having a packed house as we host the March 3 COFFEEHOUSE FOR KAYE.   Your kind donations to assist in offsetting recent, unexpected expenses would be greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to attend the COFFEEHOUSE FOR KAYE and would still like to make a contribution, please contact Joan O’Brien at 250 835-0104.

Thank you in advance for sharing this announcement, and for marking this date on your calendar.  Please join us to ensure we have a wonderful evening in support of Kaye on Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 pm.

A Celebration of Life for Garth Baumann will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Carlin Hall.
