On Friday November 25, 2016, the Andrew Collins Trio played to a very appreciative audience at Carlin Hall. The evening consisted of a well thought out blend of original material from their new album And It Was Good, their first album, A Play On Words, along with covers of their favourite artists. Instrumental and vocals were mixed throughout their set as were songs of varying styles, tempos and genres. The evening ended with a toe tapping, hand clapping encore featuring dual mandolins playing a medley of traditional fiddle tunes.
Andrew Collins continues to be a ‘mover and shaker’ in the acoustic music movement that pushes the boundaries of traditional music; earning five Canadian Folk Music Awards and five Juno nominations along the way. Andrew, along with Mike Mezzatesta and James McEleney, are committed to the innovation of acoustic music that blurs the lines between bluegrass, jazz, old-time, folk, celtic, and classical music.
