2014/15 has been an another exciting year for Carlin Hall.

We have hosted very successful Bluegrass Music lessons on a

weekly basis, Monthly Coffee Houses filled with appreciative

audiences, Seasonal Craft Sales, Wedding Receptions,

Concerts, Memorial Teas and other important public/private

events.

The Annual General Meeting took place on May 20.

Congratulations to the new executive consisting of President,

Larry Stephenson; Vice-President, Garth Baumann; Secretary,

Joan O’Brien; Treasurer, Tammy Blain. Hall Rentals’ contact is

Marcha Adams, Flo Shepherd will continue as newsletter

editor and Donna Young will look after newspaper advertising.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to outgoing

president, Garth Baumann. He has worked tirelessly in this

role for many years and has had a very positive impact on

Carlin Hall. Our board will continue to benefit through his

knowledge and experience as he serves as our vice-president.

We’ve been fortunate to have a volunteer group that works

tirelessly to make things happen at Carlin Hall. Whether it’s

the annual spring clean up, potluck dinners, or the other

regularly scheduled events, we are grateful for their energy

and dedication to the Hall. We are always ready for more

hands to help out!

This is the time of year when our annual membership drive

takes place. Your support in purchasing a single membership

for $10 or a family membership for $15 is appreciated. These

are available at public events hosted at Carlin Hall.

We are hosting two very important fundraising events at

Carlin Hall in June. On June 6th, we are lending our support

to the efforts of the Second Harvest Food Bank in Salmon

Arm. Although most people think of the winter months as the

times of the year to pitch in and help out, the summer months

also find several people coming to area food banks. In

recognition of this, we are sponsoring a special Carlin Hall

Coffee House. Your donation for admission, cash or nonperishable

food items, will go directly to the food bank. This

promises to be a fun event again this year, so c’mon out and

enjoy some “home grown entertainment”.

On June 19th at 7:30 pm, we are very excited to host

Canadian Whitewater, comprised of Chris Stevens, Jim

Leduc, Bert Jensen, and Charlie Veaudry. This is a hot, hard

driving, high energy bluegrass band! Canadian Whitewater,

along with guest duo, Larry & Jane Stephenson, promise to

provide a memorable evening of musical entertainment. Funds

raised through admission at the door will go towards the

ongoing operational expenses of Carlin Hall. Be there when

the doors open at 6:30 to get your seat! Bring your friends

and let’s all get behind this project and have an awesome

evening of music and other surprises!!

We would like to thank our community and all who have made

this such a successful and fulfilling year. Stay tuned to

various ‘happenings’ on the website. Have a safe and happy

summer season!
